journey
Born in 1994, Arthur discovered a passion for sculpture very early on but first turned towards project management by joining a business school.
In 2015, he travels to New Zealand for 4 months to cross the country on foot from north to south (Te Araroa walk). While climbing mountains on the other side of the world, the idea of settling in nature and becoming a sculptor emerged in his mind.
This idea was confirmed the following year during a solo trek in the Himalayas (Ladakh). On his return, Arthur took evening courses at the Beaux-Arts in Paris in parallel with his work as a project manager.
In 2020 he left his Parisian apartment for a cabin in Auvergne to realize his project.
artistic approach
Arthur focuses on what he has aspired for many years: Nature, as well as a mode of expression corresponding to his thinking: Abstraction through refined shapes.
One material catches his attention: wood, a noble and living material. He digs into surfaces, sanding them, strikes them, burns them, add gold leaf.
He simplifies the lines, purifies the silhouettes, digs out the material in order to exacerbate the tension and force present in each volume to create a harmonious and soothing form
The workshop
The workshop is located in the middle of a property lost in the woods, in the Livradois Forez park and also serves as a living space
